Objectively Stiff.

During independent testing, the bottom bracket was verified to have a final peak deflection average of 16.38mm when 1100 N of force is applied at an angle. This compares favourably to other similarly sized carbon frames, thanks to data from Tour Magazine (Q4-2011).

Tapered head tube.

Steering confidence from 1 1/8th inch upper and 1 1/2 inch lower bearing cups.

BB30 Bottom Bracket.

An open standard that allows the bottom bracket to be made lighter, stiffer, and at a lower Q factor. Adapters (not included) are available to fit BSA standard cranks.

Thin seat stays.

The beefy bottom bracket and oversized chain stays allow for 12mm thin seat stays (16mm at its widest point). Reduces the transfer of shock and road buzz to the saddle.

Full carbon fork.

Weighing in at roughly 380 grams uncut, the fork (with carbon fiber steerer, crown, and dropouts) mates perfectly with the tapered headtube of the scout. Designed specifically to complement the frame geometry with 45mm of rake.

Distinct Finish.

Strands of carbon fiber are hand applied over the unidirectional CF shell, making each carbon frame visually unique. Available with a matte finish in nude carbon or blue on nude.

Exceptionally Durable.

After passing the out of saddle fatigue test with 100,000 cycles at 1100N, followed by a frontal impact during EN14781 testing, the Scout was subjected to an increased angled test load of 1300N (the equivalent of roughly 292 lb-force) and overload tested until failure.

The test went on continuously for over 46 hours at 3 cycles a second, until a hairline crack appeared on the left chainstay after the 592,220th cycle - almost 6 times the minimum required by the standard. The carbon frame stayed intact and did not fail catastrophically.

The Scout's pedaling fatigue resistance also exceeds (by almost three times) frames certified by the EFBe for Top Performance. At lower, normal loads, it would take exponentially more cycles (approaching infinity) to induce frame failure.
